Others report occasional waits during peak hours, particularly during the lunch rush. While the seating is wheelchair accessible, the overall space might appear tight for larger groups. The shop can get busy, which might detract from the experience at times, and reservations are preferred to avoid disappointment. The best chip shop I've been to since Melfort Rd chip shop in Thornton Heath 35 years ago ! Chips amazing. Food amazing. Staff brilliant and friendly. Should be 10 stars 5 doesn't do them justice
A large portion of food and great taste. Very friendly service. (Onion vinegar is the King)
Best chip shop in an area by far. Batter is delicious, clearly fresh and good ingredients. Cash only.
I been here meny times and the staff are so lovely and chattie, the owner is amazing and food is great and the atmosphere amazing, 100% recommended this and will not go anywhere else
I have never had a bad meal from the captains table. I normally have either scampi, sausage or cods roe with chips and the chips are cooked just how I like them, well cooked and not partially raw! I am from the South Coast where chip shops are in abundance in the fishing villages and this shop is honestly the nicest I have tried!
Big portion, tasty cod, crunchy chips and onion rings with salt & vinegar, completed with tartar sauce. Smiley friendly staff. Homey atmosphere.
Never had a bad fish and chips from here. Small little shop which can get incredibly busy. Friendly chatty staff. Food always fried well. Lovely crisp but fluffy chips. Fish is always cooked well. I like how everything comes in a box and not just wrapped in polystyrene and paper. Sometimes it can be tricky looking for a parking space nearby but definitely worth trying if you've never been. Recommend!
